Nominate/ Someone

Thank you for helping us find people doing important work in the Fraser Lowland.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking people already making their communities stronger - often without much recognition, funding, or formal support. They're:

Already taking action - not just thinking about change, but doing something, showing up consistently, or holding space for others

Rooted in this place - living and working in the Fraser Lowland, connected to real communities here

Oriented toward care - valuing relationships and long-term thinking, willing to learn with others

Examples of People You Might Nominate

Community food work Someone running a free meal program, feeding 50 people weekly and coordinating volunteers - all from their own kitchen with no budget.

Neighborhood organizing A young person organizing their apartment building to share resources, watch each other's kids, and create a community garden in an unused lot.

Cultural knowledge keeping An elder teaching traditional plant knowledge to a small group, helping people reconnect with the land and cultural practices at risk of being lost.

Emergency preparedness Someone coordinating disaster readiness in their neighborhood, making sure everyone has what they need and knows their neighbors.

Holding difficult conversations An artist creating spaces for conversations about racism, housing, or climate - holding complexity with care.

Building repair networks A person creating systems for fixing things instead of throwing them away, teaching skills and building community.

Youth mentorship & skill-sharing Someone teaching young people trades, life skills, or offering consistent support and guidance.

Land & ecosystem care A person restoring habitat, stewarding watersheds, or protecting green spaces.

Housing & economic solutions Someone working on co-housing, tool libraries, time banks, or other ways of sharing resources.

This could be paid work, volunteer work, or something in between. No formal credentials needed.
